If you listen closely you will hear people say “Can I be honest with you?” over and over and over again before they actually say what they mean. When did we become so inherently dishonest that virtually every spoken thought needs to be prefaced? 99% of the time this phrase is used it is simply the precursor for deception or half truths.
People might as well begin all conversations more accurately with the following statement:
“I am about to blatantly lie to you with a never ending stream of BS.”
Honesty is a fleeting commodity. And it only seems to be getting worst and worse.
