If you watch the local news you would think the world is literally about to end. The new reports about the incoming snow on the East Coast range from the total breakdown of society to complete and utter panic. 99% of the stories are silly at best.
We love this obviously angry and sarcastic post from social media today (reposted with permission from author):
Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful calls, texts, emails, and US Postal mail letters. We ARE OK and I wanted to let everyone know that we DID make it home from the food store safely last night with all of the essentials (including the Oreo Cookies) for the incoming storm. Right now they are calling for approx. 1/2 inch to 1 inch of snow in our area which has literally crippled the county, city, and entire state. In anticipation of the massive predicted 1 inch of accumulation schools have been closed for well over 24 hours, dance and basketball practices cancelled, and general panic has set in across the region. We WILL rebuild. We WILL endure. We WILL survive. #insanity #sarcasm #IAmFromTheNorth #StayHomeIfYouCantDrive #Snowpocalypse2016 #MilkEggsBread #Oreos #snowangels #snowcream
Brilliant post. Stop the madness people. It is a little snow (unless you are in the Washington DC area. If you are there you are screwed!)
